CLIQ is a new smartphone from Motorola thats runs on Google’s Android platform. It also runs communication software called Motoblur that organizes your social networking accounts, tweets, email, photos and contacts and delivers them as updates to the home screen in easy-to-view streams. Motorola has a video explanation of Motoblur here . The 3G phone also features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a full touch-screen display. It also has a 3.1-inch 320 x 480 screen, WiFi support and a 5 megapixel camera.

LG has announced that their GW620 phone will be their first smartphone powered by Google Android . As you can see the picture, the GW620 is a smartphone with a slide-out keyboard as well as a 3-inch touchscreen keyboard. The LG GW620 will also have a social networking flair, which obviously means that sites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and the like, will all be fully represented. By the way, LG is planning on unveiling three new Windows Mobile smartphones in the next few weeks.

The Google Android 1.6 is now official. A successor release to Android 1.5 (also known as the Cupcake), the Google Android 1.6 update has been released and it certainly promises to bring more functionality and explorable dimensions than ever to Android based mobile devices. Android 1.6 not only allows users to overstep the confined boundaries of fixed display resolutions but also includes support for QVGA and WVGA display types. Developers can also specify the type of screen they intend to use.

LG has joined into Android smartphone line up with the LG’s GW620 a.k.a Etna phone which became the company’s first android-powered phone that ready to hit the select European market from the quarter-four of this year. This is an entry-level android phone, featuring a 3-inch touchscreen display, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and integrated 5-megapixel camera module. Unlike the Motorola’s CLIQ and HTC’s Hero, the LG GW620 is runs on the standard Android OS without a bunch of modifications.
