Posted by Charbax on September 4th, 2009 Sony are releasing some new pretty cool touchscreen based E-Ink readers. Here I show you the interface a bit. It seems to work quite alright. All that’s needed now is that they release an unlocked HSDPA and WiFi version runing something like Google Android to add features and basic but optimized Internet text content reading features. Facebook said more than 65 million people are actively using the on their mobile devices . The social network said it had just 20 million active mobile users at the beginning of the year. The site has seen explosive growth in the mobile department thanks to Facebook placing a stronger emphasis on applications, and expanding its Facebook Connect feature to the mobile Web . The Facebook app is routinely among the most-downloaded programs from over-the-air content stores like Apple’s App Store for the iPhone, and Research In Motion ’s App World for its BlackBerry smartphones.

Sprint have recently announced that they will be offering their first Google Android handset, the Google Android handset they will be offering is the HTC Hero. A recent article on Cnet compares the HTC Hero with the MyTouch 3G , and it seems that the HTC Hero comes out on top. Both of the handsets have exactly the same processing power, however the HTC Hero has 288MB of RAM, whereas the MyTouch 3G only has 192MB, because of background processes in the Android OS memory is very important.

The wait for the Samsung Galaxy has been interminable. But finally, our Android loving hands have managed to fondle this next–gen slice of Google delight. And, of course, we took a slew of snaps so you could join the fun. Read on and take a peep. The Samsung Galaxy looks remarkably like the HTC Magic , with a similar white frame and the same, unadorned version of Google Android on board. However, it sets itself apart from the Magic with a 5 megapixel camera and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

For one, developers will be able to post screenshots and descriptions (as well as icons), to showcase their apps. Google has also provided the following video (the first one) showing the new Android Market: The new Android Market comes with four new sub-categories for apps: – Sports – Health – Themes – Comics “Developers can now choose these sub-categories for both new and existing applications via the publisher website,” explains Android’s Eric Chu.
